Greetings,

We are all glad winter is over! BBQ season has now beset upon the land, and nobody beats us at BBQ chicken.

The results are in for the Scholarship Program: Jared J. Skotek of Central Dauphin High School was awarded the $500.00 Boyd T. Ackey Memorial Scholarship and Skye Leppo of Bishop McDevitt High School was awarded the $500.00 Doris Fosnacht Memorial Scholarship. All of the essays submitted were outstanding. Congratulations to both for a job well done.

We will be conducting another December raffle this year to continue the Scholarship Program. Tickets are now available at the bar or from any SAL member. We will be awarding $500.00 on December 1 and December 31 as well as every Sunday. On Christmas we will award $1,000.00 and every other day in December we will award $100.00. The winners will be based on the evening daily number each day in December. We hope to sell all 1,000 tickets and have all 31 winners. The odds of winning in this raffle are way better than anything the lottery offers. Many thanks to all who participated in last years raffle. It really feels good to give something back to the community. A sell out would enable us to award $1,000.00 scholarship. These young people will someday be the leaders of our community.

Many thanks to the SAL Squadron for your continued help and support. Nominations for SAL officers and the unopposed election of the same was held at our May meeting. Thank you all for your service.

Fred D. Deimler III, Commander
