HONOR GUARD DETAILS
Your
Post Honor Guard has been very active in the past two months.
In March our Honor Guard went to Duncannon to do the Post Everlasting
Ceremony for them and they treated us to a very nice dinner.
Among other events in April was a service for one of our members,
William Edwards, United States Army, and was interred at We
started off the Memorial Day weekend celebration with a special ceremony at
Oak Ridge Manor and had a very nice lunch with them.
It was a very meaningful service for all of them and us.
Monday
morning started out with the traditional firing at the Post and followed up
with 16 more firings at cemeteries far and wide.
The Patriot News followed with us to many of the locations and got
some great pictures and a video on PennLive.com.
They gave us a very patriotic article in the paper.
The Sons of the American Legion treated us to a scrumptious breakfast
with all the trimmings imaginable. Thank
You. The
Parade as usual provided the big touch with
speakers, food and drink at the end.
Although a little shorter than the normal hike, it was well received
by the community and participants alike.
The Honor Guard was proud to have a contingent marching and the
Legion van near the front. We
picked right up from there with a service for Mary Lucas at resurrection on
the 7th of June. We
could use a few more young fellows as members.
Remember, it’s for the veterans we do this. Check
the bulletin board for details of all activities for the Honor Guard. Ed Hine,
Captain American Legion
